Why Grandma Mimi is No Longer on OutDaughtered
Danielle recently opened up about why her mother, āGrandma Mimi,ā no longer appears on OutDaughtered.
In a new episode of her and Adamās podcast, More Than Reality, Danielle shared insights into the complex relationship she has with her mom.
When Danielle was young, her mom, Mimi, was a single mother, and Danielle developed independence early on.

Though Danielle and her mom remain close, behind-the-scenes challenges made including Mimi in recent seasons of OutDaughtered difficult.
Early seasons featured Mimi as a lively grandmother to the six Busby girls, but she disappeared from the show after season 8, leaving fans wondering
. Danielle revealed that Mimiās busy life and occasional unreliability posed challenges to the showās structured filming schedule.
Unlike the impression Mimi left on viewers as the āfun, cookie, silly grandma,ā Adam mentioned that behind the scenes, their interactions were sometimes more complicated than they appeared on TV.
Danielle acknowledged that she and Adam occasionally seemed short-tempered with Mimi on-screen, which she felt was misrepresented, as the context behind those moments was often missing.
āThereās a lot of things that arenāt shown,ā Danielle explained. While Mimi is still very much part of their lives, the family dynamic is more complex than viewers might have realized.
