Great News, Days of Our Lives Fans! Peacock Just Greenlit the Show’s Renewal

It’s a great time to be a Salemite — and a Days of Our Lives fan! Ahead of the show’s annual Day of Days fan event this weekend, we just got news that Peacock has renewed the sudser for its 61st season!

It’s onward and upwards for the soap, and learning it’s been renewed is especially exciting for folks eager to see what the new writers have in store when their episodes start airing towards the end of spring next year.

That means they’ll hopefully have time to tackle longer stories and take the show in new directions — or classic ones, as Thaao Penghlis has enthusiastically teased.

It’s not a giant surprise since the show has consistently been in Peacock’s top ten titles since it moved over to the streaming service back in 2023.

But it’s still exciting news and it’s always a relief when we find out that our favorite soaps are still going strong.

With Day of Days taking place on Saturday, November 2, we’re sure there are plenty more surprises and exciting news tidbits to come, especially since we’re about to get into the show’s landmark 60th season.

On top of that, we know we’ve got a number of heartbreaking farewells to make, from Doug’s death, honoring the late great Bill Hayes for the soap’s 15,000th episode, to letting go of John in the wake of Drake Hogestyn’s death.

It’s been a rough little while for the Days of Our Lives family as they’ve faced painful losses, but this news is definitely something to celebrate.
