Inside the church, the priest speaks about Sam and the day they will all be together again. He then invites people to share memories about Sam.

Sam's funeral begins GH

Molly is the first to speak and thanks everyone for being here to honor he sister, Sam. She talks about how the four of them, the Davis girls, were always a family. Out of all of them, Sam was the quiet and calm one, the one they could always go to for advice. She can’t express how much she’ll miss her sister, and while there will be only three sets of arms in the Davis girls’ hugs in the future, Sam will always be there with them.

Lucky and Liz listen GH

Kristina speaks next, talking about how Sam was always there for her when she got herself in trouble, her own personal safety net. However, Sam would never judge her or anyone, and believed in second chances. Sam was always there to remind her that she wasn’t her mistakes.

Joss notices Lucas is missing and asks Carly where he is. She doesn’t know.

Back out at Julian’s grave, Ava says Julian made significant mistakes in his life, but he loved him, Sam and Leo. She wishes she could honor him by being at Sam’s funeral, but she is staying away out of respect for Sam’s family. She asks why Lucas isn’t in there?

Ava questions Lucas GH

Back inside, Spinelli talks about how Sam was one of the first people to befriend him, and through her, he found his dear friend Jason. He was a fantasy-loving tech nerd back then and was so different from Sam, who was cool. However, Sam accepted people as they were. Spinelli recalls when Sam tried to strength-train him to impress Maxie. He cries that he treasures his friend, who gave him the confidence to fall in love with the woman of his dreams. Maxie weeps.

Jason and Caly listen GH

Carly speaks next about how strong Sam was. She flashes back to facing off with Sam about her losing Jax, Sonny and Jason, all of whom were still in her life, and Sam responded to her gloating by slapping her. Carly admired Sam’s strength, and says it took them awhile to become friends.

She notes Sam loved with her whole heart, and tells Sam’s kids that she loved them and to carry the strength she gave them and that she’ll always be with them.

Rocco and Scout GH

Outside, Lucas tells Ava how Danny lashed out at him and blames him for Sam’s death.

Liz speaks next about her highs and lows with Sam and flashes back to them fighting over Jason. Liz says they clashed and hurt one another, but it made the place they got to that much sweeter.

She says it taught her that if you don’t get along with someone, maybe it’s because you don’t understand them. She says she and Sam looked deep and eventually became friends and co-parents.

Lucky talks next. He says Sam was always a good friend to him and called it like it was. You always knew where you stood with Sam, and she was a hero.

He says Sam saved his sister Lulu’s life when he and his brother couldn’t. He hates that Sam lost her life in the process. He doesn’t know why she was taken from them, but their family will forever be in her debt.

Lucky talks GH

Dante heads up to speak and talks about the dark patch he hit a few years ago with PTSD and how Sam stepped up to help him. He doesn’t know where he’d be without her, and over time, their friendship turned to love.

He called Sam his second chance, and he will alway be grateful for what they had.

He says he’s going to do what she would want and keep on going. He tells her portrait that he’ll always love her and tells their kids he loves them too.

Dante speaks about Sam

In the cemetery, Lucas doesn’t know if he made a mistake that cost Sam her life, and they won’t until the autopsy comes back. However, he performed the surgery, so the hit and guilt are his to take.

Lucas feels guilty GH

Inside, Rocco speaks about how Sam was a stepmom to him but never treated him differently than her own kids. He says they had their own secret handshake, and he wants to teach it to Danny and Scout now.

He says Sam gave him a brother and sister, and he and his dad the family they needed when they really needed one.

Rocco talks about Sam

Jason and Danny get up to speak. Jason states that Sam knew he wasn’t big on public speaking, and he just wanted to say he was grateful for the years they spent together, and is thankful for their son.

He says Sam taught him a lot about life, and she mattered to many people, including him. He says there was no one like Danny and Scout’s mom.

Jason and Danny GH

Danny speaks about the things his mom loved. At the top of the list, she loved to go fast. She also loved a good black leather jacket, and they are going to give hers to Scout when she’s older.

She loved Noodle Buda’s Chinese food. However, most of all, she loved us: him, Scout, and Rocco.

Back in the cemetery, Ava knows what it is like to feel guilty, isolated and misunderstood. She is here for him, just as Julian would want her to be.

Ava and Lucas at grave GH

Finally, Alexis stands at the front of the church to speak about her exceptional daughter. She begins by talking about first meeting Sam as an adult, whose extreme circumstances during her younger years had shaped who she was then.

She regretted missing her childhood and wishes she had been there to raise her. However, finding each other and choosing each other were two of her greatest joys.

Alexs speaks GH

Back at Julian’s grave, Ava says Julian died too soon, but at least he went before his daughter died. Lucas is grateful to Julian for Sam.

Alexis continues to speak about Sam, who was not just her daughter but her friend. She doesn’t know if she could have raised Molly and Kristina without Sam, as she was her anchor more than once. She says Sam never shied away from danger, which is one thing she didn’t love, but she was impressed and proud to be her mother. The only way to honor her daughter is to be brave like she was. She has decided not to grieve long, to get lost in sorrow, and will cheer Sam on to her next great adventure. Alexis sobs, “Thank you for choosing me, my angel.”

Dante and the kids

The priest gives closing remarks, and Gio plays a tune on his violin as everyone leaves the church. Only Alexis remains behind, alone.

Kristina and Molly return to check on their mother and tell her it’s time. She wants one more minute and asks them to sit with her. They do, and she says she wants one last moment with all her girls. A flurry of flashbacks of Sam are shown as the show comes to its conclusion.

In the final moments, we see Lulu in her hospital bed, and she opens her eyes…
