Jordan’s escape and Ian Ward’s fury:

CLA stood frozen, her breath caught in her throat as she stared at Jordan—the woman who was supposed to be locked away in prison now stood before her, alive and unrepentant.

“How… how are you here?” Claire stammered, her voice trembling. “You’re supposed to be in prison.”

Jordan smirked, her eyes glinting with something between arrogance and menace.
“Not everything is as it seems, CLA. Let’s just say I have a knack for survival.”

A threat CLA couldn’t ignore:

CLA’s heart raced as Jordan stepped closer, her tone turning icy.
“Listen to me carefully,” Jordan said, her voice low and dangerous.

“If you even think about telling anyone that I’m out, I’ll make sure your life is torn apart.

Everything you care about—your job, your friends, your reputation—I’ll destroy it all.”

Claire’s blood ran cold. She wanted to shout, to call for help, but the weight of Jordan’s threat silenced her.

It wasn’t just her own life at stake; if Jordan made good on her promise, CLA’s entire world would crumble.

But if she kept the secret, she would be complicit in Jordan’s schemes—a reluctant accomplice to a fugitive.

“What do you want from me?” CLA asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jordan’s expression softened slightly, though her words remained firm.
“I don’t want to be found out—not yet. I have too much to do, too many loose ends to tie up. Stay quiet, and no one gets hurt.”
