Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Gwen’s Return Date Details With Big Story Shocking Fans

Yup, that’s right! Gwen showed up on Days of Our Lives’ Friday, November 17 episode to give Chad what Xander refused: The Spectator, and through it, a way to punish Everett!

It’s not the first time we’d seen both Gwen and Emily O’Brien’s Theresa in the same episode together — that happened when Gwen left for Alamania just seconds before Theresa arrived in Salem — but it was the first we’ve seen Dimitri’s ticked off wife since she left to swipe his fortune.

When characters are written off long term and leave, they might mention them here and there, they might even share a phone call from time to time with someone onscreen, but they aren’t seen.

By putting Gwen in a scene with Chad, the show let us know “Hey, Gwen’s still around. She’s still a viable character and she will be back.”

Chad not only called Gwen to make an offer on The Spectator, but we got to see her explain that she actually wanted to keep links to Salem and was reluctant to sell The Spectator.

Her agreeing to sell wasn’t because she wanted to sever that link, but because she was ticked at Everett herself.

There could still be a place for her at the paper if she earns Chad’s (and because it’s being returned to the “proper” family, Jack and Jennifer’s) good will by selling it to him. Also, if Dimitri weasels his way back into town, someone’s got to keep him and Leo on their toes!

Just before she left, Gwen did vow to return, but it was still nice to get reassurance that it’s happening.

We know Theresa’s story has a definite shelf-life, so we’re guessing her and Konstantin’s plans will fall apart before Christmas, chasing her out of town once more.

(It could also, fingers crossed, put Xander and Sarah back together just in time for some truly magical holidays.)

And once Theresa’s gone, Gwen can come home without any of that awkwardness of having the same actor playing two entirely different characters in town at once. Now that we’ve seen the brunette Brit back in action again, it seems like her full return is closer than ever.
