Annual Shoutout

Garcia took to Instagram to share her annual shoutout to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She shared a photo of herself in a sleek black dress with heeled sandals. In the caption, Garcia expressed her gratitude and shared an important message.

“Eighteen years ago today, I was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Here’s my yearly shoutout to @vumcchildren ‘s hospital for taking such good care of me while I kicked cancer’s butt! Almost 10,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer in 2025. Are you aware?? 🎗️” Garcia wrote in the caption.

According to the Mayo Clinic, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a fast-spreading cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. The cancer grows quickly and disrupts the healthy production of blood cells. It’s caused by an overproduction of white blood cells known as myeloblasts, which outpace the healthy blood cells. AML occurs mostly in adults, but it can also happen in younger people if it’s not quickly treated.

In light of this news, Garcia was featured in a prominent magazine. Wild Child Magazine reshared her Instagram post, encouraging their followers to read her special message. The DAYS newcomer has become a source of hope and inspiration for others. Garcia was also diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth.

In addition, she’s battled AML since she was three years old and has undergone numerous surgeries for much of her life. But she doesn’t let her disabilities limit her. Garcia dazzled fans with her ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary dance performances. She proved that people with disabilities can do anything they put their mind to. Garcia continues to be a beacon of hope for others. Here’s what else you need to know about the DAYS star.
