Big Shockers! At the end, Jada breaks up with Rafe Days of Our Lives Spoilers
Rafe’s really done it this time on Days of Our Lives. He let his pride, insecurity and and assumptions lead him to the wrong conclusion — that Jada was still sleeping with Shawn. And, in turn, he slept with Sami. Now, after actually talking with Jada, Rafe understands that he was wrong, but it’s far too late.
To his credit, he did come clean immediately about sleeping with Sami, but if he was hoping Jada to see it as the same as what she’d done when she slept with Shawn months ago, that hope is gone. And Rafe’s relationship may be, too.
When we spoke with Elia Cantu, we wanted to understand better how Jada and Shawn ended up going from zero to sixty so fast and jump into bed together.
“I would say they connected quickly,” she explained, because of “‘trauma bonding,’ you would call it.” They were both in very vulnerable places when they hooked up and “they’re both very familiar with each other. Sometimes, in life, that just happens. You’re in that place, you’re very vulnerable.”
That’s especially relevant now because it’s exactly what Rafe claimed to explain his sleeping with Sami! He was in a bad place, he says, thinking Jada was still sleeping with Shawn. Sami, of course, was dealing with EJ’s shooting and her talk with Johnny. One thing led to another, they were familiar with each other and… trauma bonding!
Jada, though, was not having it. As she pointed out, she insisted nothing else had happened after that one night with Shawn and that she loved Rafe and only Rafe.
He didn’t listen to her. Rafe saw a shirt and jumped to a conclusion. Jada, on the other hand, had thought he’d betrayed her, left her at the altar, told her he didn’t love her and slept with an exotic dancer the night before their wedding. They are not the same.
And now, Jada’s walked out on Rafe and told him she’s the one that needs space. Teasers have Rafe turning to Sami again on Friday which we’re worried about leading to some more, ahem, “bonding.”
So maybe it’s time for Jada to rethink their relationship after Rafe’s betrayal. For real this time. Luckily, she doesn’t have to face the prospect of leaving him alone — since Shawn’s got genuine feelings for her that he’s been trying to keep stuffed down!
We asked Cantu about Shawn and Jada and whether they’ve got a shot at an actual relationship, and she admitted she’s had a good time with the two of them.
“I think it’s always fun when two different people get together,” Cantu noted. “I think there’s an exciting part, too, because it’s like, ‘Oh, we’ve never seen this pair before!’ And so, I think it brought a level of excitement. But to answer your question… I think they have a lot in common and I think they do vibe well, for sure. The chemistry is great.”
That’s not a no as far as them getting together — especially with how much Rafe has botched his reunion with Jada! We guess we’ll file this under “Stay Tuned,” because right now, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting real wedding from Jada and Rafe anytime soon. And Shawn’s looking a whole lot more reasonable!
