Days of Our Lives’ Shocking Name Drop Just Left Us Scratching Our Heads — and EJ Ticked!
Well, we were certainly shocked on Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives when EJ got a “Get Well” card. And it’s not because of the reason you’d think; namely that no one anywhere would care enough about him to bother sending the card!
No, instead it was who sent the card that surprised us. At first, EJ spotted the envelope and, only seeing that it was from a DiMera, hoped that it was from Johnny. But it wasn’t. The card had been sent by… Stefan?!
First off, there’s the question of why Stefan would send one. He and EJ were far from on good terms when he was last around. Was it meant to be ironic? Maybe it was supposed to be a bit of a twist of the knife for some reason. EJ was certainly annoyed enough to just ball up the card and toss it in the trash.
But that wasn’t the only problem.
Because the last we saw of Stefan, Vivian’s faithful manservant Ivan had kidnapped him and hauled him off to parts unknown! Vivian, in turn, faked Stefan’s signature to divorce Gabi, despite the fact that he had been warming to the idea of reconciling with her.
That was the end of Stefan. We never saw him again, but the assumption has been that Vivian’s been keeping him trapped somewhere. Otherwise, why wouldn’t he try returning home to his family (well, to their empire), his ex-wife and the home he’d been forcibly dragged away from??
Now, though, he’s sending EJ get well cards? Something’s fishy. Does this mean Stefan’s free of Vivian? If so, why doesn’t he come home? If not, how and why did he send it?
Maybe Vivian sent it in his name to keep up the ruse that he just ran off and left Gabi. But why even remind people he exists if that’s the case? And how in the world would she keep him prisoner for months, if not years?
Now would be the time for Stefan to come back. DiMera’s in tatters, EJ’s recovering, Kristen’s lost the family business and Vivian lost her shot at the Kiriakis fortune when she blew up Philip’s scheme.
If she still wanted to get her hands on some extra cash, sending Stefan back home to claw DiMera back would be her best bet. Whether or not he’d actually return any time soon, if this isn’t Vivian faking a card, Days of Our Lives at least opened up the possibility that Stefan’s out there, he’s free and he could one day make his way back home.
