General Hospital Monday, August 4 Update: Ava Backstabs Ric – Brook Lynn Pumps Adoption Brakes

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, August 4, reveals that Ava Jerome (Maura West) will make a backstabber move against Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) while Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) pumps the adoption brakes on Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

First on Monday’s GH episode, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will run into Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), so they may end up discussing Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and all his Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) questions.

Speaking of Jason, he’ll reel now that he’s heard Britt’s voice in the background of a phone call.

Jason will realize Britt is truly alive and staying at the Five Poppies Resort, so he’ll mull over what to do next.

As for Britt, she’ll get a shock of her own. Could Britt get a hint that Jason is the caller and figure out that he’s looking for her?

Back in Port Charles, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will lie to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about an Australia trip and act like some time apart from Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) will be a good thing.

In reality, Josslyn will be heading to the Five Poppies resort with Vaughn – and they’ll have to get closer than ever as they pretend to be a newlywed couple.

At the pool, Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) will need Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) to promise that their secret mission will stay under wraps.

Gio won’t want anyone else in the loop on the lab break-in he’s about to carry out for Emma.

While Emma swears they can keep it quiet, Ric will have dinner with Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos).

That’ll give Ava a chance to go behind Ric’s back and make an underhanded move in Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) office.

Ava will tell Alexis that their little arrangement has gotten overly complicated, so she’ll want to get rid of the third party muddying the waters.

In other words, Ava will want to remove Ric from the blackmail equation, so you can bet he’s not going to be happy about this!

Over with Gio again, he’ll have an encounter with Chase.

That may give Chase the opportunity to put a good word in for Brook Lynn since she’s desperate to reconnect with her son.

Although Chase was looking forward to adopting a kid with Brook Lynn, she’ll ultimately slam the brakes on that.

Brook Lynn will sit down with Chase and shock him with the news that she wants to wait until she fixes her bond with Gio first.

Elsewhere, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) will sweeten the pot for Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and convince him to up the ante with Ava for an extra 10 grand.
