Days of our Lives: Rafe & Steve Dig Up Dirt on Jeremy
Jeremy Horton Returns to Salem — Is He a Changed Man or Still Dangerous?
Jeremy Horton is back in Salem after nearly two decades away, and his return is already stirring up drama. Though he claims to be a changed man, many aren’t convinced — especially those who remember his dark past, including Stephanie Johnson.
Jeremy, once a drug-smuggling pilot with a violent streak, has returned as a seemingly reformed man. He turned himself in, underwent therapy, and even secured a job as a long-term substitute teacher for fifth graders Thomas and Rachel. Salem Elementary must believe he’s a safe hire — but others aren’t so sure.
Julie Williams and Jennifer Horton have warmly welcomed Jeremy back, unaware of the full extent of his history. However, Stephanie, his ex-girlfriend, was visibly shaken by his unexpected visit. Years ago, Jeremy violently held her head underwater during an argument — a terrifying memory that still haunts her. Even her parents, Kayla and Steve, don’t know everything that happened, but they know enough to be deeply concerned.
Steve Johnson, now working solo since losing John Black, has enlisted FBI agent Rafe Hernandez to quietly investigate Jeremy’s recent past. Brady Black might also get involved, as he’s already proven himself a capable investigator — possibly following in his father John’s footsteps.
Meanwhile, Jeremy’s awkward attempt to reconnect with Stephanie quickly turned uncomfortable when he brought up her steamy novel One Stormy Night — clearly recognizing the real-life details of their former relationship hidden in the book. Though Stephanie initially denied it, he knew she was the author “Anastasia Sans” and admitted to reading every page. This left her mortified, especially since she had asked Alex Kiriakis to remove those specific passages before publication — a request he failed to fulfill.
As Jeremy steps into his new role teaching Rachel Black — who is already struggling with emotional turmoil after Kristen’s imprisonment — many are questioning whether he’s truly safe around children. If Rachel begins to spiral, Jeremy may be tested in ways no background check can predict.
With so many eyes now on Jeremy — from Steve, Rafe, and potentially Brady — it remains to be seen whether he’s genuinely reformed or if he poses a hidden threat to Stephanie and others in Salem. One thing is certain: his return is far from simple, and the truth may soon come to light.
