General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Puts Two & Two Together, Orders a Hit to Protect Michael?
General Hospital spoilers leak Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) asking Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) if he shot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was a painful heart-to-heart that had to happen.
Sonny wasn’t keen on putting his son in that awkward spot, but he seems to truly suspect that Michael may have shot Drew. Michael certainly isn’t denying that implied accusation as he skirts around answering it and insists he won’t be the person who ends up being charged for this crime.
He is confident that the police are going to follow the evidence and it will lead to someone else.
How does he know that and why is he so sure that’s how it’s going to pan out? How is he so certain they’ll even turn up any evidence? Those questions have to be running through Sonny’s mind, and they could lead to him thinking he better do what he can to shore things up to protect Michael.
Does that include taking Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) out of the equation?
Killer Confidence
Sonny might not like the way he feels right now. He can’t tell whether his son is lying to him or not — a similar sentiment to what Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) had to say when she confronted Michael about seeing him at Drew’s the night of the shooting.
With Michael being so certain that the evidence will not lead the police to his door, and that there is evidence to be found, and dodging actually saying he didn’t do it, it’s safe to say Sonny may start worrying that some part of Michael is being naive and he won’t be able to ride this out without complications.
Jacinda is a Liability
Despite Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) being hauled into the PCPD on charges involving conspiracy and the attempted murder of a sitting Congressman, Sonny is going to know Michael may not be out of the woods. In fact, he may have just dug the hole he’s in even deeper by framing Willow for a crime she didn’t commit.
Nina was just gravy. Michael couldn’t have planned that she would end up offering up a fake alibi to protect Willow, but now it has tethered them together and Willow looking guilty makes Nina look guilty too, by default.
Does trusting Jacinda to stick to their story make Michael a fool? Sonny may not be willing to take that gamble.
Michael May Be Guilty of More Than One Crime
If Michael is framing Willow to take the fall for Drew’s shooting, then that points the finger strongly at him for having been the one who pulled the trigger.
How else would he have access to Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) antique gun to plant it at Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) place where Willow has been staying? Moreover, this means Michael’s alibi for the night of the shooting is as fraudulent as Sonny suspected, and that makes Jacinda a bigger liability than Michael may want to admit.
Will Sonny deal with that problem the way he always does and take Jacinda out? How do you see this working out?
