DOOL Spoilers: Chrishell Stause Opens up About Her New Soap!
Soap fans who enjoyed watching Chrishell Stause playing Amanda on All My Children or Jordan on Days of Our Lives can see the Selling Sunset star return to her sudsy roots in her new role as Yaz on the Australian soap Neighbours!
“I did soaps way before I ever did real estate,” she shared in a “Ramsay Street Revelations” video posted to the show’s social media. “
So some people may know me from soaps, some people may just know me from Selling Sunset, but now you’re going to know me from Neighbours!”
Flying to Australia to join the cast and crew of Neighbours was an adventure but Stause found herself feeling right at home. “I have to say everyone has been so amazing and kind,” she enthused. “I just really feel welcomed.”
Of course, Neighbours isn’t as well known in America as it is in Australia and Europe where it has been airing for decades. But that all changed in September 2023 when the soap returned to the air and began airing on Amazon Freevee in the US.
“I had heard of Neighbours,” Stause confided, “but I didn’t get it in America. And then I found out I could watch it on Amazon Freevee so I very quickly tried to binge a bunch of Neighbours.
It really struck me as a family show that had such a fabric of history to it. And the rest of it felt exciting where it’s like, ‘Oh wait, who’s this?’ So I was just trying to get the T.”
Yaz showed up in Erinsborough as an American on business but it was very quickly revealed that she has a connection to the villainous Heath, who met a fatal end after his evil plot went awry.
“Yasmine comes to the neighborhood to create a light show for Erinsborough but she’s really there to avenge her brother’s murder,” Stause previewed. “And she thinks she knows who it is… and that girl Holly’s going down!”
Will Holly be able to explain she was only acting in self-defense when she caused Heath’s death? Or will Yaz not even care to listen? Neighbours streams free with commercials on Amazon, and you can even go back to start with the Nov. 27 episode where Stause made her Aussie soap debut!
