Is Rachel Behind EJ’s Shooting – Days of Our Lives’ Eric Martsolf Leaks Clue About TV Daughter’s Guilt?
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that many fans are wondering if Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) could be behind EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) shooting, especially now that Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) has potentially leaked a clue about his TV daughter’s guilt!
In an interview with SOD, Martsolf opened up about the DOOL’s decision to recast the role of Rachel, which was previously played by Finley Rose Slater.
Now that Alice Halsey is set to make her debut in the role on April 24, Martsolf had some big admissions to make.
For starters, Martsolf confessed that he “deeply questioned” why the part of Rachel was being recast – at least early on.
Since Martsolf thought Slater was great in the role, he hated to say goodbye to her version of Rachel.
However, Eric Martsolf eventually understood the reasons behind the older Rachel swap.
It seems like this is a story-driven choice that’ll make sense once the material hits the screen.
Martsolf talked about how the character has matured with Halsey playing Rachel and definitely sang her praises.
Although Martsolf couldn’t confirm any Days plot developments, he did offer some hints that could point to Rachel as EJ’s mystery shooter.
“What I can tell you and tease is that the character of Rachel becomes even more centralized and even more important in some upcoming storyline that honestly required some deep, deep chops,” Martsolf said.
In other words, Martsolf ultimately understood that Rachel had to grow up somewhat for the sake of the story.
Halsey came on board so that she could help Rachel tackle heavier material, so let’s think about what that could mean.
Rachel supposedly slept through EJ’s shooting, but we only have Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) word on that. Kristen could be covering for Rachel – or Rachel could’ve rushed back upstairs and got back in bed before anyone noticed what she’d done.
Rachel would’ve had a motive to go after EJ for sending Grandma Rachel Blake (Ros Gentle) away and for all the threats he’d been tossing around at Kristen.
Maybe Rachel snapped, got her hands on a weapon and fired at EJ that night.
Days spoilers say EJ’s weird behavior will catch Kristen by surprise later during the week of April 21-25.
What if EJ remembers Rachel with a gun and hides that memory from Kristen?
Although EJ might be a menace most of the time, he has a soft spot for his niece and might want to cover for her.
Could Rachel be the one who tried to take EJ out?
Whatever the case, Eric Martsolf feels confident that Days fans are going to love Halsey once she makes her debut.
Martsolf was blown away by Halsey’s work right off the bat, so he made a prediction about some great stuff that’s set to air soon.
