Exclusive: Days of our Lives Alum Remington Hoffman Takes The Stage
Remington Hoffman went from being stabbed in the back on Days of our Lives to being back behind a bar in his new role. I recently sat down with the actor to chat about all things Salem, returning to his theater roots, and his series regular role on Tyler Perry’s BET+ show, Zatima. Check out our video interview below!
Character Development
Hoffman joined the cast of DAYS in April of 2020 as Li Shin. As the son of DiMera Enterprises chairman Wei Shin, Li was groomed for leadership and became a board member. He initially made waves by firing Chad (Billy Flynn) over assault allegations, only to reinstate him when Chad’s innocence was proven. Li’s tenure was marked by strategic maneuvers, including supporting Gabi’s (then Camila Banus) bid for CEO and later aiding Jake’s (Brandon Barash) ascent to the role. He often found himself at the center of corporate power plays within the DiMera family.
Li’s personal life was equally tumultuous. His relationship with Gabi evolved from casual dating to a full-blown engagement. However, his manipulative tendencies surfaced when he attempted to erase Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) memories to prevent him from rekindling his romance with Gabi. Li’s schemes unraveled, and during their wedding, Gabi exposed his machinations, leading to a dramatic fallout. Li’s obsession with control led him to conspire with Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) to brainwash Harris (Steve Burton) into murdering Stefan. Although the plan failed, Gabi and Stefan uncovered Li’s involvement, blackmailing him into relinquishing his DiMera shares. Tragically, Li was later found stabbed in the back, with Gabi initially suspected. It was eventually revealed that Connie Viniski (Julie Dove), a former blind date, committed the murder after Li rejected her advances.
From Knife to Nightcap
Hoffman has kept busy since departing Salem. He is currently starring in Tennessee Williams’ In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel at Hudson Backstage Theatre in Los Angeles. The actor plays the role of barman – a quiet, observant character who serves as a subtle witness to the emotional unraveling of the main characters, Mark and Miriam. The play runs through May 18th. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here.

Hoffman also just wrapped the fourth season of BET+’s Zatima, where he plays Bryce. The show was recently renewed for season 5, which will start shooting in August of 2025.
