Mother-Daughter Drama as Gabi & Ari, Sophia & Amy Clash on Days of Our Lives
In the Tuesday, May 27 episode of Days of Our Lives, Javi decided to apply to the Salem Fire Department. Doug asked Leo for help tracking down Julie’s necklace. Ari, Tate, and Johnny found out about an injured John. And two mother-daughter clashes heated up Salem.
Clash #1: Gabi and Ari in Horton Town Square
At first, we thought Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) was overreacting. But in the end, Ari (Marissa Reyes) stayed out all night and didn’t answer any texts or calls from her mother.
When Gabi did catch up to her daughter, Ari fed her mom lies, deflections, and some attitude of her own. Clearly, Ari feels resentful towards Gabi, and it will be good to get to the heart of their conflict in the coming weeks and months.
JJ (Casey Moss) had to play the reluctant middleman, and with a little of his help, Gabi calmed down. She has been on a tear lately.
She has had it out for everyone, but she has to figure out she can’t act like that with everyone who loves her.
As for Ari, spending the night with Doug (Peyton Meyer) in the Salem Inn and then lying about it — well, that is teenage behavior. But if she thinks she’s an adult, she needs to think again.

Clash #2: Sophia and Amy at The Brady Pub
At The Brady Pub, Sophia (Rachel Boyd) met with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) about using her legal skills to help get her baby adopted.
Of course, during their conversation, Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) walked in and caught her daughter in the middle of the adoption conversation. Amy immediately went on the offense, telling Sophia that this adoption wasn’t going to happen.
But then something happened. Melinda gave the mother and daughter food for thought. She said she can relate to both Sophia and Amy and then told them her tragic story.
When she was 17 and living in China, she got pregnant, and her dad wanted to throw her out of the house, but her mom agreed to raise her daughter as her sibling. But instead of sticking around, Melinda moved to America to pursue her dreams.
Melinda’s daughter, Haley (Thia Megi), didn’t find out that her sister was her mother until her 20s. While she felt betrayed, they eventually repaired their relationship. Unfortunately, shortly after that, Haley died. Melinda’s story really calmed things down between Amy and Sophia, and the two agreed to talk later.
However, Tate (Leo Howard) was another story. He knows why Melinda shouldn’t be their adoption lawyer. She and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) stole Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) baby and caused a lot of mayhem and misery for those involved. Thankfully, the show played this beat.
John Black: Hero
The last couple of episodes (Friday, May 23, and Monday, May 26) have been wonderful and difficult to watch at the same time. They truly honor John Black as the hero he has been for a long time.
So far, Paul (Christopher Sean) has returned to support his dad along with Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Belle (Martha Madison). Meanwhile, Carrie (Christie Clark), Will (Chandler Massey), and Eric (Greg Vaughan) are on their way this week to be by John’s side.
Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) emotion and support for the love of her life are completely heartbreaking. And the flashbacks so far are wonderful.
The one reminding us about Belle and John’s clash over Marlena’s DNR was perfectly placed and provided another opportunity to show how John always wants to make things easier and better for his family.
Now, do we think Bo (Peter Reckell) is in a rehab facility in Salem or somewhere else? And when did they get there? We’re still trying to figure out those logistics.
