DOOL Spoilers: Alum Jensen Ackles’ New TV Show ‘Countdown’ Premieres Next Month
Days of Our Lives fans have a special soft spot for alum Jensen Ackles. Ackles is well known for playing the part of Dean Winchester on The CW’s Supernatural for 15 years.
But, before he was chasing monsters with his brother Sam, Jensen Ackles played the part of Eric Brady on NBC DOOL. Now, the popular actor is starring in a new series named ‘Countdown’ and we have ALL the details.
‘Countdown’ is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on Wednesday June 25. Days Of Our Lives alum Jensen Ackles will be leading the cast and playing the part of the series’ main character Mark Meachum, an LAPD detective.
‘Countdown’ Premiere Date And Synopsis
According to the official ‘Countdown’ synopsis from Amazon Prime, “When an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight, LAPD detective Mark Meachum is recruited to a secret task force, alongside undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement, to investigate.
But the hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions.”
Ackles new series will kick off with three episodes to binge watch on Amazon Prime, and then a new ‘Countdown’ episode will drop every week on the streaming giant until the season finale (which is scheduled for Fall 2025).
The DOOL alum will be joined by some popular actors in the new series, like Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), Elliot Knight (The Boys) and Jessica Camacho (The Flash).
Jensen Ackles’ New Amazon Prime Series
Since Ackles’ time on Supernatural, he has joined a few other primetime series but none of them have had staying power like the CW series.
So far Amazon’s ‘Countdown’ has received a lot of buzz ahead of the June 2025 premiere and it looks like the former Eric Brady actor might have another hit on his hands.
