Days of Our Lives Week of June 9 Preview: John’s Funeral Heartbreak, Marlena’s Final Goodbye to True Love

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers preview video for the week of June 9-13 reveals that fans will see some John Black (Drake Hogestyn) funeral heartbreak as Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) says a final goodbye to her true love.

DOOL’s weekly promo talks about John defining heroism and romance for 40 years.

That’s something tons of Days fans would agree with since John pulled off so many rescues and grand gestures over the decades.

Sadly, John’s last heroic act became a fatal sacrifice. Although John helped get the Versavix dose that saved Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), he ultimately couldn’t recover from his explosion injuries.

That’s why John’s loved ones will gather to honor his incredible life and legacy in the coming episodes.

There’ll be plenty of Days flashbacks highlighting John’s best storylines and warm family moments.

The show’s weekly preview video shows Belle Brady (Martha Madison), Carrie Brady Reed (Christie Clark), Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) toasting to John with their coffee cups in the town square. Of course, the four of them will speak at John’s actual funeral service as well.

The same goes for Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and others who want to share memories of John.

When it’s Belle’s turn to share, she’ll point out that they don’t talk enough about how funny her dad was.

Despite the sadness of the occasion, there’ll be some laughs too since that’s exactly what John would want.

As for Paul, he’ll reflect on how baseball can bring people together.

That was certainly the case for Paul and John since they bonded over their love of the sport.

Even Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) will mention how John used to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame with her.

That memory will warm Marlena’s heart as she bets John was calling out to swing for the fences.

Days spoilers say there’ll eventually be a group hug as everyone gathers around Marlena in her time of need.

Nobody will want Marlena to feel alone as she faces this difficult loss.

“Goodnight, my love,” Marlena says in DOOL’s weekly preview clip as she bids one last farewell to her soulmate.
