Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) are now partners in crime, secretly plotting for Salem University Hospital. She is funding EJ, or at least part of it, and things are about to get very complicated on the Peacock soap.

Something Big Coming This Fall

This week, we received some surprising news that will significantly affect a major event this fall. We found out that Gwen gave EJ half the money to purchase Salem’s struggling hospital, and they also intend to expand by establishing the DiMera family free clinic.

However, if you remember the last big promotion for Days of Our Lives, the free clinic set to open this fall will be named the Dr. Tom Horton (MacDonald Carey) Free Clinic.

This makes me question whether EJ and Gwen will have to change their plans and not name the free clinic after the DiMera family.

EJ decided to rename the project to the Tom Horton Free Clinic to reduce public anger or to ease the tension with University Hospital doctors who dislike him.

Secret Science Lab For Dr. Rolf?

Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) are unhappy that EJ purchased the hospital and is making severe cuts. They might not be willing to volunteer their time at a clinic named after EJ’s family.

Regardless of the clinic’s name, EJ and Gwen are not supporting it out of a desire to help the community.

This clinic will serve as a front for some questionable, secretive science happening behind the scenes. Whenever a DiMera is involved in dubious science, you have to question whether Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) will be involved.

Rolf might steer his submarine back to Salem to handle some shady tasks for Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo)’s son, EJ, along with his accomplice, Gwen.

It appears we are about to see a cutting-edge underground lab created for EJ’s devious plans, which Gwen seems to be involved in. One has to question, what does she gain from this?

Why is she investing so much money to support EJ as his angel investor? Without her von Leuschner funds, EJ wouldn’t be able to purchase the hospital; that’s his benefit, but what’s her motive?

FBI And ISA Investigate-Cat Greene Suspects EJ And Gwen’s Alliance

Currently, ISA and FBI agents Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) are examining EJ’s financial records, but they haven’t found anything yet.

They still don’t know who his co-buyer is-with Gwen back and loaded with cash from the von Leuschner inheritance, she should also be under investigation.

I bet they will look into her soon; whenever a DiMera makes a significant move in Salem, they face scrutiny.

Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) sensed something was off the moment EJ started bidding on that hospital. That’s why he urged Cat to return to the ISA as a financial analyst and teamed her up with experienced FBI agent Rafe.

Will Cat Solve The Case?

The question is, will Cat connect the dots since Gwen entered EJ’s office while Cat was working on the blueprints? Keep in mind, those blueprints are just for the public area; they don’t include the secret private science wing.

Therefore, EJ isn’t too concerned about her seeing them when Gwen brought it up-however, it does seem odd for Gwen to be in EJ’s new office at the hospital at all.

Once Cat realizes Gwen’s connection to EJ, I believe Cat might leverage her new position with EJ and her friendship with Gwen.

She’ll seek to create opportunities for the ISA and the FBI to uncover information and find a way to stop EJ’s malicious plans and whatever Gwen is up to as well.

Stefano’s Shadow

Longtime Days fans are aware that EJ must be planning something incredibly thrilling with his vision for the hospital.

For many years, long before Elvis Jr. finished primary school, his father Stefano collaborated with the notorious Dr. Rolf. This mad scientist is exceptionally intelligent.

He possesses serums that can bring people back to life, doppelgangers, undetectable masks, and personality microchips that can alter a person’s self-perception. Additionally, Stefano’s personal scientist is highly skilled in brainwashing and mind control methods.

Horton Family Celebrates And Gathers For Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

We will have Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow) and Jeremy Horton (Trevor Donovan) at the ribbon-cutting ceremony; Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) will also be present.

Many familiar faces are coming back for this event; perhaps Salem might be getting two new clinics: the Tom Horton Free Clinic and the DiMera Family Free Clinic established by EJ. The question is, will the residents of Salem have a choice between these competing clinics?

Instead, we might see EJ needing to soothe the hospital board members and Kayla. This will lead him to rename the clinic after the late, great Dr. Tom Horton to avoid raising suspicions.

Where Is Stefan?

Another notable moment was when EJ inquired about his absent brother, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). While EJ was questioning Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) regarding Stefan’s location, she responded by saying that her former partner was dead to her.
