General Hospital Shocking: The actress Jane Elliot leaving the show – GH Comings and Goings

It looks like Jane Elliot’s latest stint on General Hospital has come to a close as, on Wednesday, November 8, Tracy bid farewell to Port Charles once again. It’s been one heck of a run since April, with Tracy meddling left and right. There was blackmail, secret lawsuits and snatching control of Deception from Lucy’s reluctant hands… to give to Brook Lynn?

Well, if there’s one thing we know, it’s that Tracy does as Tracy wants! She is, after all, a Quartermaine, through and through!

Now, though, she’s packed her bags and is off to join Bobbie in Amsterdam to attend to Luke’s affairs. Of course, she couldn’t leave without giving Olivia a bit of advice (or was that a piece of her mind?) on snapping Ned out of his delusion and watching out for Lois!

According to Soap Opera Digest, sources confirm that it won’t be before we’ll be seeing Elliot and Tracy once again. And that makes sense. While Jacklyn Zeman passed away after her cancer battle back in May of this year, the show has yet to deal with her death or say goodbye to Bobbie. Instead, she’s been out of Port Charles and off in Amsterdam.

But it’s sadly not a matter of if General Hospital will say farewell to her, but when. And sending Tracy off to join Luke’s sister seems like a good way to situate the show where they can finally recognize Zeman’s death with Bobbie’s own. After all, with Luke gone, who better to someday come bearing the sad news, but Tracy?

Earlier this week on General Hospital, viewers were upset to find out that Jane Elliot’s current run on the ABC daytime drama series had come to an end, when Tracy announced she was leaving Port Charles for Amsterdam.

In story, Tracy was heading back to Europe to tend to Luke’s affair and meeting with Luke’s sister, Bobbie to help her get through the emotional ordeal.

However, on Friday, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that while “Tracy will be off-screen during her trip, her absence from the canvas will be short-lived.”

That would also make sense given that Lois (Rena Sofer) told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), that she should take Tracy’s offer up to run Deception and that she would help her fend off any interferences from Tracy and others.

Elliot is a Daytime Emmy-winning actress and enduring fan favorite with General Hospital fans.  he has played the role of Tracy Quartermaine numerous times over the years including in: 1978–1980, 1989–1993, 1996, 2003–2017, 2019–2021, and now in 2023.

Many GH viewers are wondering if Tracy’s exit might also pave the way with how to wrap up the character of Bobbie Spencer’s story, since her portraying Jackie Zeman passed away this past May, and the soap opera has yet to deal with it on-air.
