Welcome Back, Liesl Obrecht!
During the July 11 episode, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) reached out to Dr. Liesl Obrecht, looking for more information on his “birth mom,” Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), which had fans speculating over whether or not the good doctor would be returning to the canvas.
Well, shortly after the episode ended, Soap Opera Digest (SOD) confirmed Liesl’s comeback, as fan favorite Kathleen Gati is set to reprise the role.
Does this mean Thiebaud will be reprising Britt upon her return, too? It’s a good sign!
Kirsten Storms’ Hiatus
As one fan favorite enters, another is going on hiatus. Kirsten Storms recently hopped on social media to announce she’s taking an extended leave from the ABC soap, as she’s moving to Tennessee.
Nicole Paggi filled in as Maxie Jones for Storms on Thursday, July 3, and will return as a temporary recast for a couple of episodes. While Storms is set to come back the week of August 18, she won’t be seen again until the end of the year.
The actress entered the role of Maxie Jones in 2005, and the legacy character has become a staple in storylines.
Lastly, fans will see more of Stella Henry next week, as Vernee Watson gets more time on the canvas. She’ll appear during the Wednesday, July 16 episode as Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) attempts to keep his aunt at bay.
Still, fans know he’s trying to hide his romance issues with his wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), but how long will he be able to do so, knowing how persistent Stella can be?
