Chavez was announced as a cast member for the new I Know What You Did Last Summer film in November 2024 and filmed alongside The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Lola Tung.
Although Chavez and Tung were supposed to be part of the movie’s opening sequence, things changed in the end.
According to what Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson told People, the decision was made to leave that scene out since it didn’t fit with the vision of the film overall.
“It sucks because you don’t want to do that to those actors,” Kaytin Robinson said. “And it sucks when you love something as a scene but that scene just doesn’t work in the final cut of the film.”
This is unfortune news for fans who were hoping to catch a glimpse of Nicholas Alexander Chavez in I Know What You Did Last Summer, which is the fourth installment in the classic horror franchise.
Although Chavez was only supposed to be in the film briefly, this is still a tough blow for his career.
If Chavez faces enough disappointments elsewhere in Hollywood, could he ultimately come home to GH and reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine?
