General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) death story has been confirmed to be happening this fall. There are new details to share when it comes to Leslie Charleson’s upcoming sendoff, so let’s talk about what’s in store.

In an interview with TV Insider, GH Co-Head Writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten discussed Monica’s demise and the devastation ahead for the Quartermaine clan.

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) will be especially torn up over the loss, so they’ll have to figure out what a world without Monica looks like.

The Q family will present a united front in the face of tremendous grief, but this time of mourning won’t be easy.

Since Monica is such an important and beloved figure in Port Charles, there’ll be tons of tears and touching tributes as everyone finds a way to bid farewell.

However, not everyone will have pure motives following Monica’s death, funeral and everything else that her passing entails.

“For most, it will be an occasion for mourning and togetherness; but for a few, it will mark an opportunity to be seized. Into all this steps Erika Slezak’s character, who arrives bearing surprising connections to the Quartermaine clan and mysterious ties to others on the canvas,” the writing duo teased.

Of course, this lines up with all the buzz about Slezak likely playing Monica’s long-lost sister.

We can’t forget about the strange letter to Monica that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) found – nor can we forget Martin’s vow to make Tracy pay for the ways she’s wronged him.

There’s a good chance Martin will become an ally to Monica’s sis and perhaps even pull off some trickery regarding Monica’s will.

This could lead to Martin cheating Tracy out of the mansion or whatever else Monica might leave her.

Tracy’s share may go to Slezak’s character instead – at least for a while – and set up a new rivalry between them.
