General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison Spills Why He Feared Drew Would Die, Shares Exactly What’s Next

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) recently spilled why he feared Drew would die for real and shared what was next for this villain. In a new interview with SOD, Mathison opened up about his character’s descent into baddie territory and discussed what’s still to come.

After Drew’s behavior started going off the rails and his enemy list grew, many fans started to suspect a whodunit was brewing.

Plenty of viewers thought Drew might actually get killed off – and it turns out that Cameron Mathison suspected that might be the case, too.

What does Drew Cain really remember?

“Absolutely! One thousand percent,” Mathison admitted when asked if he considered the possibility Drew might face a grim fate.

Mathison insisted that as soon as Drew began heading down this villainous road, he began mulling that fatal option over.

Since Mathison knows how things work in the soap world, he sensed that maybe his character would be sacrificed for the sake of a storyline.

Of course, GH writers kept Drew alive instead, so now they’ve got a whodunit with a living victim instead of a deceased one.

Cameron Mathison was obviously quite pleased about that since he loves being part of the cast.

Since Mathison thinks his character is a great villain who can deliver more drama, he’s clearly hoping fans will come along for the ride – even if they aren’t thrilled about Drew waking up.

Drew’s awakening at the hospital proved that Drew’s as manipulative as ever since he woke up and immediately pointed the police in Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) direction.

Using this situation to go after Michael will be a big mission of Drew’s moving forward.

“He’s going to use this to target Michael regardless of whether Michael is the shooter,” Mathison said.

“I think he partially believes that Michael shot him, but even if he didn’t, it’s flat-out an opportunity to bring down Michael so Willow gets her kids back.”

Mathison suggested Drew’s back in the game and ready to be a master manipulator again, so it sounds like this shooting ordeal just embolden him to behave even worse!

General Hospital spoilers say Drew will throw some exciting curveballs in the coming episodes, so stick with us for updates on any horrible news that’s brewing.
