Accident 💔! Matt Roloff Lost An Arm in an Accident | Shocking News 😭| Matt & Caryn Chandler | LPBW
Matt Roloff reveals in the season premiere of Little People Big World that he’s leaving Roloff Farms to his ex-wife Amy.”I’m leaving you the family farm… and some angry kids!” Matt said, as the show kicked off its 25th season.
Fans were surprised by Matt’s revelation, especially since, in May 2022, he announced his decision to sell part of Roloff Farms, blaming his twin sons, Zach and Jeremy, for the sale.
This announcement fueled an ongoing feud between the twins and their father.
In a clip from the season premiere, viewers see Matt and his fiancée, Caryn Chandler, sit down with Matt’s ex-wife Amy and her husband, Chris Merrick.
During the conversation, Matt drops the bombshell that Roloff Farms will ultimately be passed down to Amy.
“We’ve all but decided that when I die, whatever piece of the farm I still have will go to Amy,” Matt says, leaving Amy shocked and speechless.
Amy, clearly stunned, admits she doesn’t know how to react to the news, calling it “crazy.” Matt explains to Amy and Chris that the decision has been considered for a while, as any other plan would be “too complicated.”
Later, Caryn reveals that the idea of leaving the farm to Amy was actually hers. “I’m the one who had the idea that you leave everything you own—aside from the Arizona home, which is ours together—to Amy,” she tells Matt on camera.
Caryn goes on to explain why she believes this is the best decision: “Your family built and worked for this farm during the first part of your life, and I came in later.
I don’t want it, and I don’t ever want to take anything away from the people that built it—the family, the kids.” She adds that whether or not she and Matt marry, “the farm is off the table.”
Matt and Caryn bought a vacation home in Arizona in 2018, and Matt admits the idea of leaving Roloff Farms to Amy was indeed Caryn’s suggestion.
Currently, Matt is renting out the family’s former home as a short-term rental.
In another clip from the season, Amy criticizes Matt’s decision to rent the house, saying, “I never pictured the house where I raised my kids for 30 years to be a short-term rental.”
Amy acknowledges that Matt owns the home and has the right to do as he pleases but calls it “sad” from a personal perspective.
Little People Big World season 25 premieres Tuesday, continuing to showcase the ongoing conflicts over Roloff Farms.
After failed negotiations between Matt and Zach regarding the farm’s ownership, Matt has now listed the property for sale again. He hopes to sell it for $3.4 million, but if it doesn’t sell, he plans to retire in Arizona with Caryn.
Matt’s plans for retirement have been a topic of discussion for a while, and after years of hard work, he hopes to step back, while his youngest son Jacob may take over the farm in the future.
