In the most recent episode of his podcast, “Raising Heights,” Zach Roloff provided an update on his relationship with his father, Matt Roloff. Not all wounds heal with time. Little People Big World star Zach Roloff recently revealed that he and his estranged father, Matt Roloff, are still at odds. It’s not very good.
In the May 23 episode of his and his wife Tori Roloff’s podcast, “Raising Heights,” Matt talked about the relationship he had with his father. “It doesn’t really exist,” he said. Following Matt refusal to sell Zach and Tori the Family Farm, the Little People, Big World stars had a serious falling out. In addition, Matt connection with Karen Chandler and other family matters have caused friction between the father and son.
Tensions between the father and son were clearly visible in season 25 of LPBW, which debuted in 2024. “It was tough,” Zach recalled, “to see the drama unfold on television months after it actually happened. The filming and the show both concluded, and you just sort of give yourself some time. However, 6 months after the show premieres, it sort of reopens some old scars,” he added. According to Zach, Tori concurred. “That is the thing that, in my opinion, not many people are aware of. Many of these items were from about a year ago, thus it appears that much of this dust has already settled and has only lately come back to the surface,” the woman remarked.
“The disputes inside the Roloff family may have subsided, but they still exist. There is nothing fixed or anything,” Zach remarked, adding that he became aware that others are thinking the same thing, “and it’s a shame.” After seeing some things on social media, he claimed that people are still in denial and believe they did nothing wrong. “It seems to me to be merely narcissistic,” he added. “So yes, it’s not very good. Perhaps more time will heal. I believe that one constantly hopes and prays for approachment and the healing of relationships,” Tori remarked.
Despite having three kids, Tori and Zach assert that they won’t let their disagreement with Matt sour their kids’ bond with their grandparents. “I believe that the biggest misconception that people have, and the one that I would really like to address with this opportunity, is that we are not withholding our children,” Tori stated. “That isn’t happening at all. It’s all just drama on the internet.”
Regarding the complex circumstances involving the family’s grown-ups, Tori claims that all parties are making an effort. “Everyone is trying,” she remarked. “Are we right though?” inquired. “I suppose I challenge that, as in, are we trying our hardest? Does everyone in the family try their hardest? I’m not sure; sometimes I don’t think so,” he continued. “I think there were times I could have done better looking back.” However, he made it clear that he would not tolerate a toxic relationship, particularly in light of the other party’s lack of efforts to resolve the conflict. “Why would we re-engage when nothing has changed?
