The Real Reason Why Diane Really Wants To Replace Kyle on Young and the Restless
Jack was mightily confused on the October 2 episode of The Young and the Restless about why Diane was so eager to replace Kyle. Not as here, son, of course. She still loves her precious only child.
But at Jabot. Kyle quit in a huff, and his job — no matter what it was — isn’t going to do itself. Diane wants a new CFO. What’s the rush, Jack wondered? We think we know.
Off Camera
Diane (Susan Walters) faked her death and abandoned Kyle (Michael Mealor) to be raised by Jack (Peter Bergman), i.e., primarily away at boarding school. What was Diane up to all those missing years? She’s been pretty vague about it.
Heck, we don’t even know how many years it was. Soap time is pretty fluid. Kyle was born in 2001, which means he should only be about 23 years old now. But, considering this version of Kyle has an 8-year-old son, that’s highly unlikely.
Also, Diane “died” in 2011, when Kyle should have been about 10, but considering he had a son of his own five years later, that is equally less than likely. Our point is that Diane could have been “dead” long enough to have another child. And for that child to now be an adult.
The Perfect Candidate
Diane sure was insistent that she needed to replace Kyle at the office. And, what do you know, she has the perfect junior executive! Diane is setting up her secret child not just for success but to help her take over Jabot eventually! If the undercover heir is a guy, we can’t wait for Kyle to start throwing temper tantrums about how soon Mommy replaced him with her new golden boy.
Not to mention, fume and fuss when said golden boy zeroes in on Claire (Hayley Erin) — or, even more, frustrating for Kyle, Audra (Zulyeka Silver). Of course, Victor (Eric Braeden) fired Audra, but we doubt she slinks off without a fight.
And if it’s a girl, well, Kyle is going to see the perfect opportunity to seduce his mother’s protege and show, once and again, what a smart businessman he is! Of course, Diane’s daughter — a chip off the old schemer — will know exactly what’s going on, and she’ll string her brother along until he does something stupid. Which, really, isn’t that hard. Let the games begin!
The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, February 17, 2020, reveal a day of suspicions and discoveries in Genoa City.
Phyllis is in her element, holding what she knows over the head of someone who doesn’t know that she knows it, while Devon continues listening to Alexander Hamilton and following the money. You won’t want to miss a moment of this high-stakes episode.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers Highlights
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) paid off a waitress to bug Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chance’s (Danny Boaz) table in Vegas. How did she find her? How did she pay her? How did she know exactly where Adam and Chance were meeting their source, and what table they’d be sitting at? Does it matter?
The point is, Phyllis overheard Chance and Adam discussing how Adam killed a guy to protect Chance and how they lied to the guy’s wife and told her that her husband was in witness protection but now she’s asking questions.
Adam paid her off to make the problem go away and he’s determined this will be the last time the issue comes up.
Armed with this knowledge, Phyllis asks Adam a series of leading questions that unsettle him… but leave him uncertain of how much she knows… and whether Phyllis is a problem Adam now needs to make go away, too.

Devon (Bryton James) promised Elena (Brytni Sarpy) that he would stop obsessing over Amanda (Mishael Morgan) and the role she may have played in helping Colin (Tristan Rogers) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) make off with his money.
He has done neither of those things. Devon still suspects Amanda, he still suspects Cane, and he continues to investigate on his own. A tip sends Devon down a rabbit hole, and he just might not like what he finds at the end of it.
Even if Cane and Amanda’s innocence is proven, will it turn out that someone even closer to the source is responsible? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
