“I’m Not 𝙳𝚎𝚊𝚍!” – Judith Chapman Slams Vicious Online Rumors Y&R Spoilers

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that it’s been a hot minute since fans have seen Gloria Abbott Bardwell in the land of Genoa City.

Actress Judith Chapman hasn’t been involved in a storyline on the soap since Gloria’s son Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) saved her from a Singapore prison and brought her home for Thanksgiving in 2023 (she also helped him renew his vows to Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) later that year on New Year’s Eve).

With that said, Chapman recently hopped on social media to set the record straight regarding an odd rumor circulating.

Judith Chapman Is Alive and Well!

Chapman posted on Facebook, May 12, to set the record straight, as there had been a rumor going around that she had a heart attack at home when no one was around and died.

She let her fans know this was ‘fake news’, going on to say, “So strange, but all OK.”

Unfortunately, misinformation spreads a lot online, especially in the land of soaps. A fellow Y&Rer, Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott), had posted on social media at one point as well to assure fans she had not passed away, either.

Chapman’s A Soap Opera Legend

Many fans would welcome a Gloria return, as Chapman always delights whenever she drops by.

Still, the soap actress is a legend in daytime, not only for her role on The Young and the Restless, but for other characters she’s played along the way.

Young & Restless' Judith Chapman Debunks Nasty Rumor That She Died

Fans may recall Chapman playing Charlotte on Ryan’s Hope in 1983, as well as Ginny Blake Webber on General Hospital from 1984 to 1986, and One Life to Live’s Sandra Montaigne in 1987.

Chapman also played Days of Our Lives’ Anjelica Deveraux from 1989 to 1991, as well as in 2018.

She was also recast as Diana Colville on the Peacock soap, who happened to be the mom of Leo Stark, played by Y&R alum Greg Rickaart, who was Chapman’s onscreen son in Genoa City, Kevin Fisher. Judith stepped into the role of Diana both in 2019 and 2024.
