Kevin Costner Explained His Yellowstone Exit & We Felt It: ‘I Don’t Need Drama’

After over a year of constant Yellowstone drama, Kevin Costner decided he was sick and tired of it, and we can totally relate.

For the past year and a halt, the iconic new-Western series Yellowstone has been almost exclusively making news in the context of its internal drama and conflicts.

With showrunner Taylor Sheridan and lead star Kevin Costner running into issues, the series was halted — and then, the Hollywood strikes sunk it even lower.

Now, everything is resolved. Yellowstone keeps going without Costner. The actor’s own Horizon movies are hitting the theaters. But this time hasn’t been easy for him.

Kevin Costner Is Tired of Drama

Recently, the former Yellowstone lead star ended all speculations about his potential return to the series: Kevin Costner officially announced he wouldn’t return in the finale.

This statement came seemingly out of the blue after many months of radio silence and uncertainty, so the actor clarified the reasons behind his announcement.

Costner Wants to Repay His Fans

Kevin Costner is an actor who has always known his strengths and played to them: he’s a Western and neo-Western guy, and he’s the best at it.

He loves the genre and realizes that his fans love him in this genre, as well. For the actor, it’s his duty to give back to them with the best Western stories he can create, and he intends to do so.

Horizon: An American Saga – Part 1 premieres in just two days, on June 28, 2024, and we can’t wait to finally watch it, especially after everything Kevin Costner has risked and sacrificed to manifest his epic movie idea into reality.
